A Conservative group called Free Speech in Action held a rally in Vancouver in September. During the rally, members of this group invited members of Black Lives Matter up onto the stage to show their respect for free speech.
The Seattle Times named this photo of the that moment one of their pictures of the year but they completely misrepresented what actually happened.
Here’s now they described the photo:
Free Speech in Action / Aug. 13 | During an unexpected moment, Vancouver, Wash., conservative Joey Gibson, left, looks on after Black Lives Matter protester Arthur Ford, center, jumps onstage, taking over a rally from the pro-Trump “Patriot Prayer” group at Westlake Park. What is interesting to me is that everyone in the picture agrees on protecting a part of America that is always under threat: freedom of speech.
He did not “take over” the rally. He was invited on stage by Conservative organizers.
Someone who was there confirms this:
One of Seattle Times top ten photos of the year. Pretty sure we invited him up on stage. pic.twitter.com/h1imsUG3gh

Trump Supporters Invite Black Lives Matter on Stage at Free Speech Rally
At a time when political tension seems to have reached a breaking point, one rally in Washington, D.C. shows how communication—if done outside the lines of protest—can break down political barriers.
Donald Trump supporters at a “Mother of all Rallies” (MOAR) on Saturday, Sept. 16, showed the power of open dialogue when an organizer invited a group of Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesters to share their message on stage, saying the rally was about “freedom of speech” and “celebration.”
