Face it. The left has NO bench. There is no one who could legitimately step up and offer a reasonable challenge to Trump in 2020. So would they consider going outside the bull pen?
During an episode of Bloomberg’s “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations” that aired on Wednesday, Winfrey and Rubenstein took a jab at President Donald Trump by saying that you don’t need experience to be president anymore, so she could run, according to the New York Post.
… The reaction from the crowd and Winfrey’s facial expressions implied that because Trump became president without political experience, Winfrey could now take the opportunity to run for office.
Here’s the exchange between Oprah and David Rubinstein:
WINFREY AND RUBENSTEIN: “I actually never thought that was — I never considered the question, even a possibility, I just thought ‘Oh, oh,'” Winfrey said.
“Right, because it’s clear that you don’t need government experience to be elected president of the United States, right?” Rubenstein said.
“That’s what I thought,” Winfrey said. “I thought, ‘Oh gee, I don’t have the experience, I don’t know enough. Now I’m thinking, ‘Oh, oh.'”
