This will only bring a tear to your eye if you are a bleeding-heart liberal. The poor, poor unfortunate Black Lives Matter protestors are feeling a bit dumped upon by the St. Louis police.
Since the acquittal of Jason Stockley, St. Louis has been under siege from Black Lives Matter, who have been busy terrorizing the city streets. Major concerts have been canceled, businesses and the mayor’s house vandalized and police have been attacked and injured, but the BLM movement feels discriminated against.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch has the sad story:
The ACLU has filed suit against the city of St. Louis for “unlawful and unconstitutional” actions during protests of the Stockley verdict.
The lawsuit, announced in a press release, centers on the use of chemical weapons, interference with people filming police activity and violation of due process during the “kettling” incident downtown on Sunday.
“To create long-term change, we must address the problems of policing and racial disparities collaboratively,” the press release said. “Law enforcement officers, community members, experts, advocates, and elected officials must come together to create sustainable solutions. We must foster understanding and trust.”
Hundreds have illegally blocked streets and vandalized the area, but because the police have made arrests, with zip ties and pepper spray, the ACLU is embroiling the city in an expensive lawsuit. More to come on this story, without a doubt.
