It’s a sad day in America when, just days after the 45th president is inaugurated, members of his staff are receiving security details because death threats have ensued. Kellyanne Conway is the target of the latest attacks.
The New York Post gives detail:
President Trump’s adviser Kellyanne Conway is getting Secret Service protection after receiving suspicious “white substances” at her home, she revealed in a TV interview.
… “Because of what the press is doing now to me, I have Secret Service protection,” she said. “We have packages delivered to my house with white substances. That is a shame.”
The Hill also sites Conway’s claims of inaccurate and inflammatory reporting from media that could have caused the threats:
Conway also slammed the press for inaccurate reporting, using as an example a false White House press pool report about Trump removing a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office.
That report was retracted and the journalist responsible issued an apology to his colleagues, which White House press secretary Sean Spicer said he accepted via Twitter, though he also pointed to the incident during a press conference Monday.
Conway demanded that the reporter apologize to Trump.
These are interesting times in which we live. With the lightning fast speed with which Trump is making changes and “draining the swamp” there’s no room for hanky-panky from disgruntled Dems.
