RATINGS FAIL: NBC Pulls Megyn Kelly’s Sunday Night Show After Only Eight Episodes

Megyn Kelly is probably going to end up regretting her decision to leave FOX News. Her first attempt at a new show on NBC has been a miserable ratings failure. The network even pulled the show after only eight episodes.

New York Show News reports:

NBC Cuts Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly After Only Eight Episodes

unday Night with Megyn Kelly saw its last show on July 30, 2017 with guest star Ricky Gervais. In an NBCUniversal press release on June 22, 2017 it was announced that Megyn’s newsmagazine show was only a “limited run for summer 2017” and that it would return in Spring 2018 after Sunday Night Football and NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics were all done.

Initially it was said that Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly was scheduled to run for 10 episodes but her poor ratings and low viewership numbers have forced NBC to stop it after only eight episodes. She is now taking “creative time off” to focus on her second NBC show called Megyn Kelly Today…

… viewership numbers have steadily dropped weekly and she even managed to reach an embarrassing low of 2.85 million viewers on her July 23, 2017 show with Maria Menounos. Season one’s last episode which aired, two hours late because of a NASCAR overrun, on July 30, 2017 was barely able to attract 3.51 million viewers.

NBC is stuck with her, so they’re going to keep trying to use her in different slots but if her initial run is any indication, they’re going to be sorely disappointed.
