CHAFFETZ ON LEAKERS: ‘Need to Start Putting People in Handcuffs’

Former Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz said on Fox News that to stop the leaks taking place in Washington D.C. people need to be put in handcuffs.

NewsMax reported:

Former congressman turned Fox News analyst Jason Chaffetz on Tuesday said the Justice Department isn’t going far enough on leakers, saying, “They need to start putting people in handcuffs.”

Chaffetz was responding to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ announcement last week that the DOJ — along with the intelligence community — is ramping up efforts to crack down on leaks coming out of the federal government.

“Report after report after report when I was chair of the Oversight Committee, we actually read these reports, making criminal referrals to the Department of Justice and they don’t prosecute these people,” Chaffetz said.

“We could sit here all day long and look at people in the past, federal employees, who have already violated the law that have been documented by the inspector general, go put them in handcuffs and then we’ll actually see a difference and then they’ll get some credibility,” Chaffetz said.

“The deep state does not like the fact that [President] Donald Trump is trying to change the trajectory of the federal government in a place that is more compatible with what the American people want,” Chaffetz said.

The public has been hearing this for some time, will it actually happen though?
