When he’s not making movies, Sean Penn likes to pal around with socialist dictators in South America. Now he has the nerve to criticize President Trump, calling him an enemy of humanity.
The Hill reports:
Sean Penn: Trump is an ‘enemy of mankind’
Sean Penn tore into President Trump for calling Haiti a “shithole” country in an op-ed for Time magazine published Friday.
The actor and humanitarian described his time volunteering in Haiti in 2010 after a devastating earthquake struck the country, saying he founded the organization J/P Haitian Relief Organization to help Haitians help themselves recover from the natural disaster.
“On this pale blue dot Earth that we call home, the Haitian people are our neighbors, to whom our support is both the policy of a great America as it is a sacred duty,” Penn wrote.
He said that Americans “should be recognizing their grace, courage, loss, hardship and heroism” but are instead “forced to focus on a man whose sense of our country is an inherited gift for sales-gab.”
“President Donald Trump’s words describing the glorious people of Africa, El Salvador and Haiti are far worse than mere insensitivity or even nationalism. Those standards are not disgraceful enough,” Penn wrote.
He wrote that people can “find unity only when we recognize that in our current president we have elected, perhaps for the first time in our history, an enemy of compassion.
Here’s a newsflash for Penn. Americans don’t want to be lectured to by you or anyone else from Hollywood. Thanks.
