Failed 2018 senate candidate Beto O’Rourke is going to announce that he is running for president in 2020. The announcement could even happy today.
Variety reports:
Beto O’Rourke to Announce 2020 Presidential Bid
Beto O’Rourke will announce on Thursday that he is running for president in 2020, according to El Paso TV station KTSM-TV.
O’Rourke, the former Texas congressman who came close to defeating Ted Cruz in last year’s Senate race, confirmed his plans in a text message to the station.
Speculation about his announcement has been rampant since Vanity Fair posted an image of him on the cover of its April issue.
“I’m really proud of what El Paso did and what El Paso represents,” O’Rourke said in the text to KTSM. “It’s a big part of why I’m running. This city is the best example of this country at its best.”
He already had planned a visit to Iowa this weekend, including a campaign event with Eric Giddens, who is running for state Senate in a special election. O’Rourke appeared at the South By Southwest festival last weekend for a screening of the documentary “Running with Beto,” but dodged answering whether he planned to run or when he would announce.
The liberal media is infatuated with Beto, much as they were with Obama. And the love fest has already begun at Vanity Fair:
Vanity Fair was right to take advantage of the opportunity to profile @BetoORourke.
But I gotta tell you, launching your presidential campaign (a campaign billed as by the people for the people) with a Vanity Fair cover story…that is a choice pic.twitter.com/h9TZlyrg8u

I’ll give him this – He’s keenly aware of who the Democrat Base is by rolling his campaign out in Vanity Fair. https://t.co/iGe3UWkmOc

"Beto O'Rourke came from nowhere…" Nowhere being a wealthy family of privilege riding his father's political connections into office, but sure, nowhere.

Can you even believe this slobbering drivel?
Beto O’Rourke is aware of the fact that he’s a white man in a Democratic Party yearning for a woman or a person of color to transform the White House https://t.co/WhmQGZnbUg pic.twitter.com/pf1apoa9WG

Beto O’Rourke is selling the idea that he can unite the country by playing nice, especially with Americans who’ve barely met a Democrat, let alone considered voting for one https://t.co/WhmQGZnbUg

The media is going to embarrass itself with swooning coverage, just like they did with Obama.
