CNN Beat FOX News In Ratings For Election Week And FOX Has Reportedly Hired A Crisis Management Team

FOX News normally beats CNN in ratings and does so with ease, especially during a major election.

All that is changing now.

FOX News fans feel betrayed by the network’s coverage of the 2020 election and are abandoning them in droves.

Now CNN is beating them.

CNN and Fox News Channel battled for viewers on the election day that turned into an election week and then some, each earning bragging rights.

CNN edged Fox among total viewers for the week, averaging 5.9 million viewers to Fox’s 5.7 million. The latter was dominant on Tuesday as President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden faced off at the polls.

Fox averaged 14.1 million viewers Tuesday to CNN’s 9.4 million, with MSNBC drawing 7.6 million, according to Nielsen figures. But CNN was tops among those watching Biden’s Saturday evening speech after the race was called in his favor, with 13.5 million tuning in.

These are the cable news rankings from Saturday. FOX News isn’t even in the top 20.

Red State notes the significance of this:

These are time slots that Fox News normally dominates almost top to bottom. Instead, they are getting beaten by MSNBC and CNN almost across the board. While some of this can be explained by Democrats tuning in for more coverage of Joe Biden, that doesn’t explain the drop in numbers for each individual Fox News show in comparison to their normal ratings. People are tuning out, and it’s becoming very obvious why.

I’m sure you will see some of these numbers rebound during the week because of the sheer magnitude of the audiences of Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity. Yet, doesn’t that point to the broader problem? How long can Fox News continue to survive off the spoils of three hosts who the hard news division continues to spit on?

Emerald Robinson of Newsmax is reporting that FOX News has even hired a crisis management team.

No one from FOX News has explained what is going on at the network.

It makes no sense.
