CNN LGBT Town Hall For 2020 Democrats Finishes In Last Place For Ratings – Trump Rally In MN Is First

CNN held a four and half hour long town hall event this past week focused on LGBT issues.

It was essentially an opportunity for all of the 2020 Democrats to pander to the LGBT community, and pander they did.

Unfortunately for them, not many people were watching the event.

Townhall reports:

CNN Came In Last For Ratings During Their Entire LGBTQ Town Hall

CNN came in dead last for ratings during their almost five-hour “Equality Town Hall” event with the Democratic presidential candidates on Thursday. Fox News came in first and MSNBC was in second during the same time period.

Fox News was the most-watched cable news network in primetime in both total viewers and in the 25-54 age demographic, according to early Nielsen Media Research.

Fox News was in first place for the entirety of CNN’s nearly five-hour long town hall from 7:30 p.m.-12 a.m. by averaging 3.7 million viewers and 662,000 in the 25-54 demo.

CNN was in last place by having an average of 1.1 million total viewers and 320,000 in the 25-54 demo, meaning Fox News had a triple-digit advantage over CNN.

While CNN aired their town hall, Fox News’ evening programing mainly consisted of President Trump’s rally in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During CNN’s event, trans activists interrupted the candidates and questioners multiple times. One, black trans woman specifically called out the network.

Even some people on the left think the event was a disaster for the Democrats.

This is from the far left Seattle paper The Stranger:

The Winner of the LGBTQ Town Hall? Donald Trump.

Despite my multiple and very serious arguments against it, eight of the top Democratic candidates for President plus Tom Steyer took part in the first-ever LGBTQ town hall on Thursday night on CNN.

It was four and a half extremely long hours. Aside from taking a short break during Amy Klobuchar’s segment to whip myself with a metal whisk and pray to the ancient God Sotos to turn me straight, I watched every goddamn minute…

Where the candidates did manage to stand out, I’m not sure it will benefit them. As I argued before the event, an LGBTQ forum had the potential to hand ammunition to Donald Trump. And it did. Perhaps the most glaring example of this was when Jacob, the first trans child invited on stage, asked Elizabeth Warren how she would make schools safer for trans kids…

But then, she went off the rails, saying she would allow Jacob to vet the next secretary of education. “I want to make sure that the person I think is the right secretary of education meets you and hears your story,” she said, “and then I want you to tell me if you think that’s the right person and then we’ll make the deal.” Okay! So the next secretary of education will have to get confirmed by both the Senate and a nine-year-old. The attack ads just write themselves.

Democrats have way too much confidence in themselves.

They have no idea how out of touch they are with average Americans.
