Megyn Kelly isĀ at the center of sexual harassment controversy again, and this time it doesn’t involve a POTUS candidate. It’s her boss, Roger Ailes, that she has put on the hot seat, and she’s got the entire FOX News line up threatening to walk if Ailes gets the ax.
Gretchen Carlson started the ball rolling when she filed a law suit against Ailes, accusing him of sexual harassment. Almost immediately, the faithful at FOX lined up behind Ailes to support him against these accusations, with one exception. Megyn Kelly.
NY Mag:Ā When Gretchen Carlson filed her sexual-harassment lawsuit against Roger Ailes on July 6, the explosive allegations surely did not surprise Megyn Kelly. Fox News’ biggest star has since told lawyers hired by parent company 21st Century Fox to investigate Ailes that she experiencedĀ similar unwanted sexual advancesĀ from the Fox News chair in the mid-2000s when she was a young correspondent in the Washington bureau.
Amid these accusations, Rupert Murdoch has given Ailes the opportunity to resign or be kicked to the curb. However…. Breitbart reported the entire on air talent will walk in solidarity with Ailes he gets the boot.
All of Fox Newsā primetime lineup is willing to walk out of the network with chief executive and chairman Roger Ailes if he is pushed out by Rupert Murdoch and his family,Ā Breitbart NewsĀ has confirmed.
Bill OāReilly, Sean Hannity, Greta Van Susteren, Shepard Smith, Bret Baier, Eric Bolling, Neil Cavuto, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Laura Ingraham, Geraldo Rivera, Juan Williams, Jeanine Pirro, Bo Dietl, Monica Crowley, all of theĀ Fox and FriendsĀ hosts, and at least 50 Fox News contributors are willing to depart the network if Ailes is ousted, and leave with him to form a new network, one of the networkās anchors toldĀ Breitbart NewsĀ late Tuesday.
And they take no prisoners in letting Megyn know how they feel about her latest actions against the hand that feeds her.
āIf Fox wants to become the āall about Megyn Network,ā thatās fine,ā one top Fox News host said. āWe stand with Roger. And real anger has emerged that the so-called Megyn incident happened 10 years ago. The consensus among the hosts and contributors is: āWhy didnāt she say anything then? Really, the same woman that posed half naked in GQ? The same woman on Howard Stern saying what?āā
A second top Fox News Channel host told Breitbart News: āIf Megyn Kelly wants to leave, we are fine with that. Good riddance.ā
But could this be another publicity stunt, to bolster her career?
Most people at the Fox News Channel are extraordinarily offended that Kelly made Tuesdayāthe day Donald J. Trump because the official Republican nomineeāall about herself. Multiple sources canāt believe she did this today of all days.
Other network sources say that this all about Megyn Kellyās plans to get a Hillary Clinton interview, but she has already lost out on that front as both Baier and OāReilly have gotten such interviews ahead of herāand both of theirs were better than she could ever do.
The question remains, why would Kelly drop a bomb, like this, so long after t he incident, and at the height of her career? Regardless, she’s managed forever alienate her colleagues. Should be interesting to see how things play out at FOX.
