Democrats are already panicking about the idea of having Biden as their nominee in 2024 and there could be a mad stampede of candidates to replace him.
One Democrat consultant thinks the party’s best chance is with far left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
It’s not clear why. She hasn’t accomplished anything of note, other than maintaining a large presence on social media.
Breitbart News reports:
Democrat Consultant: ‘AOC Is the Democrats’ Best Shot Against Trump in 2024’
Leftwing populist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the Democrats’ best hope of defeating a potential run by former President Donald Trump in 2024, Democrat consultant Michael Starr Hopkins penned in the Hill on Tuesday.
While Trump overcame the Republican establishment in 2016 to win a historic election over Hillary Clinton, the Democrat Party has not undergone the same reforms away from the establishment. Both Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden are establishment figures who defeated socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in 2016 and 2020 respectively, keeping the populist left out of the Oval Office.
Here’s more directly from the op-ed in The Hill:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is less of a personality and more of a movement. Yes, the smart, photogenic congresswoman is the face of the rising progressive movement, but she is also the future of the Democratic Party. AOC has cultivated a following beyond politics. She’s an influencer in its purest form. Her ability to relate to her supporters and allow them a glimpse into her private life is a blueprint for Democrats trying to act less like mannequins and more like humans.
She’s the voice of a movement that began after the banks were bailed out by the government, while homeowners were left to default. The simplicity with which she talks about everyday struggles hints that she’s not just a persona for consumption. She isn’t beholden to corporations, is a prodigious small-dollar fundraiser, and could out-Trump Trump like no other politician has been able to.
Is he serious?
In which an opinion writer admits in his piece that her achievement is "influencer" on the socials.
The last thing we need is elevating more folks in governance based on their apacity to earn engagement metrics without other records of achievement besides a degree of celebrity.

She hasn’t done anything.
