Democrat Tammy Baldwin Caught Planning Fundraiser With Lawyer Of Kavanaugh Accuser

Talk about a conflict of interests and bad optics. Wisconsin Democrat Tammy Baldwin was actually planning a fundraising event with the lawyer representing Judge Kavanaugh’s accuser. Once it became public, she called it off.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Tammy Baldwin Fundraiser With Kavanaugh Accuser’s Lawyer Canceled

A fundraiser scheduled for Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D., Wisc.) with the attorney representing Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of committing sexual assault 36 years ago, has been canceled after media contacted the firm over the event.

“Your support for Tammy’s campaign has been wonderful and we really appreciate the help,” the email invite obtained by the Washington Free Beacon reads. “We are fast approaching the final weeks and we could use your help one more time. We are putting together a great event in a couple weeks and would love for you to join us and fellow Tammy supporters in DC.”

The invite asked donors to join Debra Katz, the attorney for Ford, Lisa Banks, and End Citizens United for a cocktails and conversation event with Baldwin on Monday Oct. 1 in Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. The invite includes four levels of participation ranging from $100 (supporter) to $1,000 (host).

The Free Beacon reached out to the Katz’s law firm for comment but was told they would call back.

Democrats clearly think this accusation is an ace in the hole. Let’s wait and see what happens on Monday when Kavanaugh and his accuser will testify before the Senate.
