Elizabeth Warren Takes DNA Test – Makes Her Native American Problem Even Worse (VIDEO)

Elizabeth Warren took a DNA test and released the results on Monday. She is clearly trying to get this issue out of the way so she can focus on running for president in 2020. But she somehow managed to make the problem even worse.

The test proved that she is no more Native American than most of the white people in the United States. She also angered the Cherokee Nation in the process.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Cherokee Nation accuses Warren of ‘undermining tribal interests’ by claiming tribal heritage

Cherokee Nation, the federally recognized government of the Cherokee people, accused Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Monday of “undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage” after Warren released results from a DNA test showing that she had a distant Native American ancestor.

“A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship,” Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. said in a statement.

Warren, who has been called “Pocahontas” by President Trump, has claimed she has Cherokee and Delaware heritage.

But the Cherokee Nation criticized Warren for using the DNA test to “lay claim to any connection” to a tribal nation.

“Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation,” Hoskin added. “Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong.

Professor William Jacobson of the Legal Insurrection blog talked about this on the Tucker Carlson show:

“This is a woman who built her political narrative claiming that other people are rigging the system. She tried to rig her career by claiming a status to which she’s not entitled.”

“Does it really matter whether she benefitted. She tried to benefit. She tried to get an advantage over other people by claiming a status to which she’s not entitled. It’s the worst form of cultural appropriation, or misappropriation, which is a very hot topic in progressive circles. She tried to misappropriate the identity of one of the most victimized people in history, or at least in recent history, which is Native Americans. And progressives seem not to care.”
