Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the far left rep from New York, played a major role in sinking the Amazon deal in New York which would have brought tens of thousands of high paying jobs to the state. The craziest part is that she actually seems proud of this.
Some people on the left, even at MSNBC, correctly see this as a disaster for Democrats. It plays right into Trump’s hands for 2020. On Morning Joe, Donny Deutsch and other commentators ripped Ocasio-Cortez for this.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
WATCH: MSNBC Panel Warns Ocasio-Cortez’s Ignorance is ‘Going to Hand the Presidency Back to Donald Trump’
MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” broke away from its daily grievances with President Donald Trump Friday to accuse Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) of economic illiteracy and helping reelect the president.
For seven minutes Friday morning, the show’s hosts and guests worried that the self-proclaimed Democratic-socialist was flaunting her ignorance and celebrating the loss of American jobs. “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough lamented that New York “was robbed of this Amazon opportunity” at the expense of the most needy.
Amazon announced Thursday it would no longer be building a second headquarters in New York City. Explaining the dramatic reversal, the tech giant pointed the finger squarely at local opposition. “[A] number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City,” it said….
Donny Deutsch explained that Ocasio-Cortez had aligned herself with the “white morons in Manhattan” against New York’s working class. Not one to miss an opportunity to mock the president, he marveled that Ocasio-Cortez had managed to out-bungle him. “Who would have thought on a day our portly president declared an emergency, it would be the second-most inane move of the day,” he said.

Here’s the tweet where Cortez did a victory lap for sinking the Amazon deal:
Anything is possible: today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world. https://t.co/nyvm5vtH9k

This issue doesn’t just affect New York City. The Buffalo News reports:
Amazon fallout will be felt in Buffalo Niagara
Buffalo and New York City are worlds apart economically and almost 375 miles apart physically.
But that distance and difference may not stop the Buffalo Niagara region from being shaken by the ripples spreading from Amazon’s decision to scrap plans to put part of its coveted second headquarters in New York City.
New York already had a big image problem as a state where it was hard to do business. And now, Amazon is essentially saying it doesn’t want to do business in New York, even with the state promising $3 billion in incentives to the online retail giant in exchange for 25,000 new jobs.
It’s not a good look…
But they share one thing in common: They’re both in New York State, and that will tar Buffalo Niagara with the same brush as New York City in the eyes of some.
“I don’t think it was a blow to Buffalo,” Mingoia said. “But it might put a bit of a stain on New York State.”
Even Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, in a statement Thursday defending the Amazon deal, acknowledged that the Amazon deal wasn’t just about New York City.
Here’s a video of a business owner in New York talking about it. He actually says it is beyond crazy:
"This is, quite honestly, one of the saddest days in New York City's history." A Long Island City business owner told NY1's @MylesMill that it is "beyond crazy that there could be any situation where Amazon coming to New York could be viewed a negative by anybody." pic.twitter.com/ZWHISdfhLW

And guess who was for the Amazon deal. Minorities:
So Blacks and Hispanics, along with residents of Queens and the Bronx, supported Amazon bringing jobs to NYC.
White people, residents of Manhattan and Brooklyn, did not. Guess which groups AOC sided with? pic.twitter.com/gCCENBKn39

What an awful loss for the people of New York.
