Florida’s Democrat Rep. Corrine Brown is in hot water for her involvement with a charity which was never registered as a non-profit. Democrats are corrupt? Who knew?
The Hill reported:
Florida Dem lawmaker indicted on federal charges: report
A Florida congresswoman has been indicted and will appear before a federal magistrate judge on Friday in Jacksonville, Fla., First Coast News reported.
Rep. Corrine Brown’s (D) charges may stem from her involvement with a group in Virginia that advertised itself as a charity but was never a registered nonprofit, according to First Coast News.
Brown was involved in a group called “One Door for Education.”
In March, the president of the organization pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges.
In the plea, an individual identified as “Person A” was described as a public official who was used in promotional materials for the group, which may have implicated Brown. The person identified had reportedly benefited personally from funds raised by the group.
More than $150,000 raised by the group was reportedly not used for charity but instead was spent on political events, travel and hotels.
Still, close associates to Brown say the congresswoman is “strong” and “not worried” about the indictment.
Of course she’s not worried about the indictment.
As Hillary Clinton has proved, laws no longer matter.
