Gonzalez has reportedly met with the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) to discuss potentially entering the 2018 race but has not announced publicly. A source close to Gonzalez told the paper that he is seriously considering the run and will make a decision soon.

GOP State Reps. Tom Patton and Christina Hagan have also announced their candidacy for the Republican-leaning district’s primary in May.

Here’s something you may not know about Gonzalez. He has an MBA from Stanford University! That alone would make him an attractive candidate. This guy has a lot going for him. Let’s hope he runs!
