CBS News in Philadelphia reports:
Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane Released From Montgomery County Prison Early, Says She Is ‘Grateful’
Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has been released early from prison. Kane was released from the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville on Wednesday morning after serving eight months behind bars.
The 53-year-old walked out of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility around 8:20 a.m. When asked how she felt, Kane responded “grateful.” While it’s unclear what she’s grateful for, she was emotional.
The once-prominent chief prosecutor was joyfully greeted by family members seated in a black Mercedes SUV.
Her lawyer says Kane couldn’t wait to get home to see her two sons.
The disgraced ex-attorney general saw a rapid downward spiral from what were believed to be lofty aspirations. She was sent to prison after being convicted of leaking confidential grand jury material and then attempting to cover it up.
