FOX News Breaks Ratings Record In 2019 – Hit Highest Viewership In Network’s 23 Year History

The folks at CNN and MSNBC will be very sad to hear this.

When it comes to cable news, not only is the FOX News channel on top, they are shattering their own records.

In 2019, FOX News had better ratings than they’ve ever had in the network’s history.

The Hill reports:

Fox News hits highest viewership in network’s 23-year history

Fox News averaged 2.5 million viewers per night in 2019, the most in its 23-year history, making the network the most-watched channel on basic cable.

According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News beat out ESPN, with its 1.78 million viewers, and third-place MSNBC, which drew an average of 1.75 million viewers in prime time. Fox topped its cable competitors for a fourth straight year, Nielsen said.

CNN finished 22nd, with an average of 972,000 viewers per night.

The top five shows in cable news for 2019 were Fox’s “Hannity,” with 3.3 million, followed by “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” with 3.1 million.

MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show” was third, with 2.78 million, followed by Fox’s “The Ingraham Angle,” with 2.57 million, and “The Five” at 2.55 million.

In related news, entertainment networks did not do well this year by comparison.

Deadline reports:

Cable Ratings 2019: Fox News Tops Total Viewers, ESPN Wins 18-49 Demo As Entertainment Networks Slide

Fox News was the top-rated basic cable network among total viewers for a fourth year in a row, with an average of 2.57 million in L+7. In second place was a news network on the other side of the deepening partisan fault line, MSNBC, with 1.80 million, according to Nielsen. CNN notched an average of 1 million.

Fox News also reported its highest-rated primetime in history with an average of 2.5 million viewers. Hannity was the top-rated program in cable news for a third year in a row with 3.3 million viewers…

Compare that to double-digit viewership drops for most of the major entertainment cable networks. General entertainment networks relying heavily on scripted programming as well as nets targeting kids were hardest hit despite getting delayed viewing bumps.

This data says a lot about the public, the direction of the country, and the liberal media.

FOX News isn’t perfect but at least it isn’t anti-Trump 24/7.
