Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale will re-team with director Adam McKay for a biopic on former President George W. Bush’s right-hand man. The two previously collaborated on “The Big Short,” a film on the U.S. housing-market crash.

“In the same way as it was a journey of discovery with ‘The Big Short,’ Adam was able to take a story that most people would go comatose listening to,” Mr. Baletold The Associated Press on Wednesday. “His ability to make it startling and entertaining and intelligent without compromising anything — he’s masterful at doing that.”

The director’s project will also star Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney and Steve Carell as former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
