While on Fox News, Johnson mocked the idea of Obama sending Russian President Vladimir Putin an ultimatum.

“For most of his presidency, the only consequences have been him saying that there are going to be serious consequences. So I’m sure at this point in time, Vladimir Putin must be shaking in his boots. Now there ought to be serious consequences, but they should be relayed in advance,” Johnson said. “We need to take this very seriously, but it is not just about saying there are going to be serious consequences.”
