Mitt Romney stunned the political world on Wednesday by announcing that he would vote to convict President Trump on the Democrats’ first article of impeachment.
Conservatives throughout the country were furious with Romney, as liberals who once reviled him when he ran against Obama in 2012, suddenly had nothing but praise for the senator.
During her FOX News show on Wednesday night, Laura Ingraham called on Romney to resign, a sentiment undoubtedly shared by many Americans.
“Mitt, you made your stand. Now you should resign. You committed a fraud on the people of Utah, on the Republican party, on the Constitution, and have thoroughly embarrassed yourself.”

Donald Trump Jr. echoed this sentiment, calling on the GOP to expel Romney.
Trump Jr.: Mitt Romney ‘Should Be Expelled’ from Republican Party
Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump’s oldest son, tweeted Wednesday that Sen. Mitt Romney “should be expelled” from the Republican Party over his vote to convict Trump for abuse of power.
“He was too weak to beat the Democrats then so he’s joining them now,” Trump Jr. tweeted. “He’s now officially a member of the resistance & should be expelled from the @GOP.”
Trump Jr.’s tweet came after Romney announced he would vote to convict the president for abuse of power during the Senate impeachment trial.
The junior Utah senator said on Wednesday that Trump’s attempts to withhold military aid from Ukraine in the hopes that the country would investigate former Vice President Joe Biden was a “destructive” attack on the Constitution.

Whether or not any of this happens, one thing is sure.
Romney has doomed his future.
