The liberal media, and liberals everywhere are just beside themselves at Trump’s temporary travel ban. The internet is rife with stories of lawsuits and rulings from activist judges who seek to shut down the executive in his attempts to keep America safe from terrorism.
The Guardian reports:
More than 100,000 visas were revoked after the White House banned travel from seven Muslim majority countries last week, an attorney for the government told a federal court on Friday.
The Department of Justice attorney revealed this number during a hearing in Alexandria, Virginia, for a lawsuit involving two Yemeni brothers who were sent back to Ethiopia after arriving in Washington DC on Saturday.
The brothers, Tareq and Ammar Aqel Mohammad, were forced to turn over their visas to Homeland Security officials upon arrival at Dulles international airport, according to the suit.
... Meanwhile in a separate case, a federal judge in Detroit ruled that US green card holders should not be affected by Trump’s travel ban following a suit by the Arab-American Civil Rights League. The nonprofit argued in US district court that the president’s executive action is unconstitutional and targets immigrant communities.
A restraining order released Friday from US district Judge Victoria Roberts covers legal permanent residents, not some others that also are part of the lawsuit. She said lawyers for the government clarified to her that the ban did not apply to “lawful” permanent residents.
CNN jumps on the band wagon:
The number came in response to a question from the judge about how many people have been affected by this order.
Erez Reuveni, from the Office of Immigration Litigation at the Civil Division of the Justice Department, also said no returning legal permanent residents have been denied entry.
The New York Post writes about Republicans asking for exceptions to the executive order:
Meanwhile, a group of House lawmakers who are military veterans are pleading with Trump to grant exceptions to his refugee and immigration ban for people who risked their lives to aid US forces in the terror fight.
The lawmakers — 15 Republicans and one Democrat — also sought special consideration for children from war-torn regions in need of life-saving surgery, according to a letter sent to the president earlier this week and released Friday.
Trump’s executive order temporarily barred entry of refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries — Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — for three months, and Syrians indefinitely.
The lawmakers argued the order is too broad and shuts out Iraqi interpreters who served along with US troops in combat, individuals who have provided information, and political and business leaders removed from their positions.
What part of temporary ban do these folks not understand? And who will be the first in line with tar and feathers if America is attacked, again, the way the Paris Louvre was attacked just hours ago?
A French soldier guarding the Louvre in Paris has shot a man who tried to attack a security patrol with a machete shouting “Allahu Akbar”, police say.
The man, who tried to gain entry to the Louvre’s shopping centre, was shot in the abdomen and seriously injured.
Reports say he is an Egyptian man, 29, who arrived in France last month. Police have not released his identity.
President Francois Hollande said the situation was under control but the “threat of terrorism is here to stay”.
Like impatient children, the left fails to understand, the mess wasn’t created overnight, and it will fail to be resolved overnight. Trump is making a great start and doing it at lightning fast speed.
People should be cheering at the large number of travelers being successfully vetted in less than a week!
The system is finally working.
