On the day of the Commander in Chief forum, NBC released a statement lauding the fact that Hillary was endorsed by admirals and generals. But did they issue any such statements also announcing the military endorsements of Trump? That got buried . . .
A group of 95 retired generals and admirals have endorsed Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, her campaign announced Wednesday.
“I feel I have a moral imperative to come forth and endorse Secretary Hillary Clinton for President,” General Lloyd “Fig” Newton, America’s first African-American Thunderbird pilot, said in a statement that accompanied the list of names. “Hillary Clinton is the only candidate that has the experience, temperament, critical thinking and level-headed leadership to keep America safe and our partnerships strong. She has my vote in November.”
The list comes a day after 88 retired generals and admirals signed a letter backing Donald Trump, praising him as the candidate who can reverse the “hollowing out” of the U.S. military. And it comes on the day both candidates will participate in the Commander-in-Chief Forum, simulcast on NBC and MSNBC.
And, of course, followup coverage of Trump’s statements is diminishing, to say the least, on the network’s Monday morning quarterbacking in an effort to boost Clinton’s performance.
The reality is, when serving a Comander in Chief, military leaders want someone who is a strong leader, will support their efforts, and not put them in harm’s way unnecessarily. Maybe that’s why Breitbart published this open letter from 88 U.S. Admirals and Generals praising, and endorsing Trump. And oh yeah, you really didn’t get any of that on the NBC forum.
“As retired senior leaders of America’s military, we believe that such a change can only be made by someone who has not been deeply involved with, and substantially responsible for, the hollowing out of our military and the burgeoning threats facing our country around the world,” the letter states. “For this reason, we support Donald Trump’s candidacy to be our next Commander-in-Chief.”
Those comments speak for themselves. And, assuming that her health would allow her to do so, … do you really want Hillary taking that 3:00 a.m. phone call? Remember Benghazi? It’s probably safe to assume military leaders don’t want her answering that call, either.
The best comment Trump made in his CIC interview was, … “Peace through strength.” It’s no wonder the military is behind Trump.
