Judge Roy Moore defied the odds, much like President Trump, and won his race for the Republican primary in Alabama. Conservatives in Alabama, and across the country, are rejecting the old guard, establishment and going with new, populists to represent them in government.
During the Moore victory celebration, Steve Bannon made a shocking observation. The Moore victory is causing the swamp rats to jump ship, and future wins of populist candidates will only speed up the exodus of long time establishment office holders.
Watch:
BANNON: I told you all last night that a vote for Judge Roy Moore is a vote for Donald J. Trump. And I want to thank all the good folks of Alabama for supporting Donald Trump today by voting for Judge Moore. As you all remember, last night, we talked about starting a revolution with Judge Moore’s victory, well, Senator Corker stepped down today. He’s not going to run for re-election. And you’re gonna see in state, after state, after state, people that follow the model of Judge Moore, that do not need to raise money from the elites, from the crony capitalists, from the fat cats in Washington D.C., New York City, from the Silicon Valley …
Politico reports on Corkers retirement announcement:
Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker will retire from the Senate after two terms, scrambling next year’s election map and causing a seismic change in the Senate’s entrenched committee structure.
The Tennessee Republican’s announcement on Tuesday shocked the Senate. Though he began mulling retirement earlier this month, most Republicans were convinced he would run again.
…Â Corker, 65, became the first senator to announce his retirement this cycle, even as octogenarians Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) mull reelection. But Corker has grown frustrated with the Senate’s gridlock, and he struggled to motivate himself for another campaign.

The swamp rats don’t want to go down with the sinking establishment ship. Too bad. Populism is so good for the country.
