President Trump And First Lady Melania Honor Military at Walter Reed Hospital

Donald Trump, the candidate, was very serious about honoring our military. This weekend, he and the First Lady showed the nation, and our service men and women, just how much they honor them.

Western Journalism has the story:

President Donald Trump personally awarded a Purple Heart Saturday to an Army sergeant who lost part of his leg in Afghanistan.

“When I heard about this and I wanted to do it myself,” Trump said during a brief ceremony at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.

Before his visit, he sent out this tweet.

The President and Mrs. Trump visited for about an hour and a half with service members after first honoring Sgt. 1st Class, Alvaro Barrientos with the Purple Heart. He was injured in Afghanistan on March 17, in an attack that took part of his right leg.
