The United Nations Has Decided WONDER WOMAN Is A Bad Female Role Model For Girls

Yes, you read that right! The United Nations decided to make the character “Wonder Woman” a sort of ambassador for girls but has since “fired” her. Let that sink in.

There are the obvious questions. What in the name of reasonable sanity is the UN doing hiring a Wonder Woman as a universal role model for girls? Why are they involved in creating a role model for girls at all? Aren’t they busy with other more important things like world peace?

IJR posted this story and it’s a doozy!

Not even two months ago, the UN announced the addition of Wonder Woman as an ambassador, explaining that she would symbolize the organization’s efforts in five key areas.

From the UN website:

-Speaking out against discrimination and limitations on women and girls
-Joining forces with others against gender-based violence and abuse
-Supporting full and effective participation and equal opportunity for women and girls in leadership in all spheres of life – including the workplace
-Ensuring all women and girls have access to quality learning
-Sharing examples of real life women and girls who are making a difference every day

But the absurdity doesn’t stop there. The real reason they caved? A bunch of lefty loons started a petition to get her sacked. Yes, folks, there are enough left wing wackos with enough time on their hands to protest this and start a petition.

The petition read, in part:

“A large-breasted white woman of impossible proportions, scantily clad in a shimmery, thigh-baring body suit with an American flag motif and knee-high boots is not an appropriate spokeswoman for gender equity at the United Nations.”

Now consider this. If Beyonce was nominated for the position, do you think the same objections would have been offered? Probably not.

And for the record, the UN had no problem inviting her to perform in 2012. They must like large breasted women who wear thigh high, red boots on some level.

ForeignPolicy.com adds this tidbit. Remember, these folks are revered around the world as a force for peace and unity.

Wonder Woman is not the first fictitious icon to delve into U.N. advocacy. On March 18, Ban appointed the Angry Birds mobile game characters honorary ambassadors for a day to help raise awareness for climate change. Apparently, air pollution really ruffled their feathers.

So, was it because she was white? Did feminists object to her femaleness? Was she not gender neutral enough to be a female role model? Maybe Wonder Woman is just too American!
