Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delivered an excellent speech this week, highlighting the hypocrisy of Democrats and the media on the topic of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
He pointed out the fact that Democrats don’t want the conspiracy theory to end but ultimately, he declared the matter “case closed.”
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
McConnell on Mueller Investigation: ‘Case Closed’
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) said special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election established no conspiracy took place between Russia and the Trump campaign and the case is “closed,” during a speech on the Senate floor on Tuesday.
McConnell took Democrats and the media to task for using the investigation to try to avoid coming to terms with the 2016 election results.
“It bears remembering what this investigation was actually supposed to be about: Russian interference in 2016. Many of the president’s opponents had quickly morphed it into something else: a last hope that maybe they’d never have to come to terms with the American people’s choice of a president.
In some corners special counsel Mueller came to be regarded as a kind of secular saint, destined to rescue the country from the inconvenient truth that the American people actually elected Donald Trump,” McConnell said…
“Two years of exhaustive investigation and nothing to establish the fanciful conspiracy theory that Democratic politicians and TV talking heads had treated like a foregone conclusion.
They told everyone there had been a conspiracy between Russia and the Trump campaign—conspiracy between Russia and the Trump campaign yet on this special question, the special counsel’s finding is clear: Case closed. Case closed,” McConnell continued.

McConnell also recently vowed to act as the “Grim Reaper” when it comes to dealing with far left proposals like the Green New Deal.
CBS News reported:
“Think of me as the Grim Reaper”: McConnell vows to thwart Democratic proposals
Deriding the “Green New Deal” and “Medicare for All,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell vowed to be Congress’ “grim reaper” and thwart all progressive proposals on the Senate floor.
“If I’m still the majority leader of the Senate after next year, none of those things are going to pass the Senate,” the Kentucky Republican told a small crowd during an event in his home state Monday. “They won’t even be voted on. So think of me as the Grim Reaper: the guy who is going to make sure that socialism doesn’t land on the president’s desk.”
Before referring to himself as the personification of death, McConnell, the White House’s most powerful ally on Capitol Hill, accused Democrats in Congress and those running for president of endorsing a fringe, far-left agenda that will imperil the American economy.
Keep up the great work, Senator McConnell.
