Nancy Pelosi Wants To Lower Voting Age To 16: “Important To Capture Kids When They’re In High School” (VIDEO)

Democrats in the House are pushing the idea of letting 16 year olds vote. They don’t pay taxes, they can’t drive, and they can’t join the military but for some reason, Democrats think children are capable of voting.

Pelosi recently said that it’s important to “capture” kids when they’re in high school. She actually said this out loud.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Pelosi: I’ve ‘Always Been for Lowering the Voting Age to 16’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) on Thursday said she has “always been for lowering the voting age to 16.”

Pelosi was asked by a reporter at her weekly press briefing whether she believed the issue of lowering the national voting age to 16 years old would gain traction in Congress. The issue came up for debate in the House last week as an amendment to the “For The People Act,” which is also called H.R. 1.

Pelosi suggested it was important to get high schoolers involved in civics when they’re a captive audience.

“I myself, personally, not speaking for my caucus, I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16,” Pelosi said. “I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school, when they’re interested in all of this, when they’re learning about government.”

You might think this sounds crazy, because it is. But it’s already being considered in Oregon.

CBS News reports:

Oregon considers lowering voting age to 16-years-old

Sixteen-year-olds could vote in Oregon, under a plan unveiled in the Legislature.

The Statesman Journal reports that several state lawmakers are introducing a bill that would ask voters to amend the Oregon Constitution to lower the voting age from 18 to 16 years old.

If the bill passes, the question would go to voters in the 2020 general election. The proposal would make Oregon the first in the nation to lower the statewide voting age to 16 years old.

The bill is backed by The Bus Project, a nonprofit organization that encourages volunteer civic activism in Oregon.

Of course, this has absolutely nothing to do with fairness, civics, or patriotism, as the left will tell you.

It’s about only one thing. Helping Democrats win elections.
