Have you noticed that the closer we get to November, the more desperate and panicked the Democrats sound?
There’s a very good reason for that.
It is becoming increasingly apparent to many voters that Trump is going to win a second term.
A new poll suggests that a large majority of voters share this view.
USA Today reports:
Nearly two-thirds of voters expect Trump to win reelection in November, poll finds
Nearly two-thirds of voters think President Donald Trump will be reelected in November, a CBS News poll released Sunday found.
Though the survey found that Trump will face a tight race with any of the likely Democratic nominees, 31% of registered voters said the president will definitely win a second term, and 34% said he probably will, for a total of 65% expecting him to be reelected. A total of 35% disagreed; 23% said he “probably will not” win, and 12% said he would “definitely not” win.
Republicans were overwhelmingly certain of Trump’s victory: 9 in 10 predicted his reelection. More than a third of Democrats agreed he would likely win…
Opinions on the race appear to be firmly set for most voters. Sixty-three percent said their minds are made up no matter who the Democratic nominee ends up being, and 61% said they wouldn’t change their position no matter what Trump does in the next year.
Even in liberal New York, this is the prevailing view.
The New York Post reports:
Most New Yorkers believe President Trump will be re-elected, new poll says
A strong majority of voters in New York believe that President Trump will win a second term in the White House, a new poll said Monday.
Sixty-two percent of registered voters in the Empire State predict Trump will get re-elected, while only 29 percent said they think he will lose his re-election in November, the Siena College survey found.
Not surprisingly, 81 percent of Republicans were bullish on Trump’s re-election prospects as were 73 percent of independents.
But even a plurality of Democrats — 48 percent — think he will win a second term, the poll found.
Trump supporters can’t take anything for granted, but they should be encouraged by this news.
