A new poll shows good news for Donald Trump and bad news for Hillary Clinton. Trump has actually erased seven points off her lead in recent days.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Poll: Clinton lead slips nationally as Trump climbs
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s lead over Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has fallen over the past week, according to a new poll released Friday.
According to the Reuters/Ipsos tracking poll, Clinton leads Trump by a 5-point margin, topping him with 41 percent support to his 36 percent. Earlier in the week, Clinton held a 12-point advantage in the same poll (44.8-32.8 percent).
Eight percent of respondents refused to say who they support, while another five percent said that they will not vote. Eight percent also plan to support another candidate.
The poll comes amid a renewed effort by Trump to court African-American voters, which he set out to do in the days following a shake-up in his campaign hierarchy, which saw campaign chairman Paul Manafort resign in favor of Stephen Bannon as campaign chief executive and Kellyanne Conway as campaign manager.
Let’s hope this is the beginning of a trend.
