If it wasn’t clear before, it’s clear now. Dennis Michael Lynch is just the latest to push back against media malfeasance. He walked away from his Newsmax television show and he did it on air. That is before the network blacked him out and replaced him with another anchor.
The message is very clear. Do not buck the media message, or else… Lynch, however proclaimed “One man cannot be bought,”
Western Journalism ran the video and reported on the great kiss-off.
Newsmax host Dennis Michael Lynch went out with a bang and not a whimper.
Lynch, who until Wednesday night had hosted the show Unfiltered, said that Newsmax was restricting his ability to support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and also shoving down his throat stories that criticized Fox News.
…“This will be, odds are, my last night,” Lynch said in going off-script Wednesday night.
He told viewers that he recalled the words of a mother of a 9/11 first responder about how he was the kind of man “who puts his money where his mouth is.”
He then spoke about integrity, a subject to which he would return in a follow-up tweet.
“I can guarantee you that one man cannot be bought, one man cannot be controlled, and this man certainly cannot be filtered,” he said.
… In what was his final on-air message, he said that in “fighting for Trump,” he has “been restricted” in that message and was recently told he “will no longer have editorial discretion on my own.”
… Lynch noted it was hard to say goodbye, but added, “I am proud of what I just did and what I just said.”
He was then blacked out. When the show returned, a new host was in place.
Lynch’s message drove a plea for integrity to return to media. He also said he was very proud of his actions in standing against media-in-the-tank.
