NOT GONNA HAPPEN: Joe Biden Says He Would Be Happy To Have Michelle Obama As A Running Mate

Joe Biden recently said that he would like to have Michelle Obama as a running mate, while acknowledging she has no desire for the job.

The underlying message here is that even Joe Biden knows he is a weak candidate and could use the help.

‘I’d Take Her In A Heartbeat’: Joe Biden Says He Would Pick Michelle Obama To Be His Vice President

Joe Biden says he would take Michelle Obama to be his running mate for the 2020 presidential election.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee told KDKA’s Jon Delano that the former first lady would be a strong addition as VP if he thought she would accept the nomination.

“I’d take her in a heartbeat,” Biden said on Monday. “She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends.”

“I don’t think she has any desire to live near the White House again,” Biden added.

Biden did say it is still early in the process of selecting a vice president.

“In terms of who to pick, we’re just beginning the process,” Biden told KDKA. “We’ll shortly name the committee to review this and begin to look through the backgrounds of the various potential nominees. And that’s just getting underway.”

Valerie Jarrett, former Obama adviser and close friend of the Obamas says it’s not going to happen.

Valerie Jarrett: ‘No chance’ Michelle Obama will be Biden’s VP

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has committed to choosing a woman as his running mate. But an Obama family confidante on Tuesday said there’s “no chance” that woman will be Michelle Obama.

Valerie Jarrett, a former Obama White House senior adviser, took a hatchet to the recent speculation that the former first lady would consider joining the Democratic ticket with Biden, who served as her husband’s vice president.

“The reason why I’m being so unequivocal is that there just simply has never been a time when she’s expressed an interest in running for office,” Jarrett said in an interview with The Hill. “She’s not demurring here. She’s not being hard to get. She doesn’t want the job.”

Old Joe is just going to have to find someone else to run with.
