NY Republican Elise Stefanik Claims $20K Was Stolen From Her Midterm Campaign – Blames USPS

Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York is blaming the United States Postal Service for $20,000 in campaign donations that went missing during the midterms.

If this is true, if even members of the USPS are now conspiring to keep Republicans out of office, what does that say about where we are as a nation?

This is shocking and outrageous.

Breitbart News reports:

Elise Stefanik: $20K in Mail Donations Stolen from Campaign; USPS Fails to Respond

Twenty thousand dollars worth of mail-in donations were stolen from Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-NY) midterm campaign allegedly by United States Postal Service’s (USPS) employees or contractors, exposing hundreds of Stefanik’s supporters to potential identity theft and/or financial fraud, Breitbart News has learned.

The USPS has acknowledged the thefts occurred during its custody of the packages, but the USPS Office of the Inspector General (USPS OIG) has failed to adequately respond to the incident, according to Stefanik’s campaign attorneys.

On Thursday, Stefanik’s attorneys sent a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy alerting him to the incident and the failure of USPS OIG response. The attorney’s also requested DeJoy cure the situation by revealing actions the USPS has taken to investigate the thefts.

“It is unacceptable that USPS has repeatedly allowed these targeted thefts to occur and cannot identify who committed the thefts, let alone where or how the thefts occurred,” the letter reads.

“Our clients were told months ago to expect a report from senior USPS OIG officials addressing the June 2022 mail theft incident, but to date have not received a report and recently learned it has not been finalized or sent.”

This absolutely must be investigated.

This is a real threat to democracy.
