Lower wages!

On average, women earn 79 cents for every dollar that the men make—and women of color lose out on even more: African American women earn 60 cents on the dollar compared to white men, and Latina women earn just 55 cents.

The wage gap doesn’t just hurt women, it hurts families—and it hurts our economy. Women are the primary or co-breadwinners in two-thirds of households with children under 18, and research shows that if unmarried women with kids made as much as men, the poverty rate for their families would fall by almost half.

If we had equal pay, the economy would have grown by $482 billion in 2014 alone.

It obviously didn’t work.
