OUT OF TOUCH: Joe Biden Getting Advice From Social Media Execs On How To Connect With Young Voters

Some people on the left have been touting former Vice President Joe Biden as the Democrats’ secret weapon for 2020 to take on Trump. Biden however, is a walking gaffe machine and furthermore, he doesn’t understand social media.

Now he is trying to get tips from social media execs.

CNBC reports:

Joe Biden is getting advice from social media executives on how best to appeal to young voters

Former Vice President Joe Biden has been receiving regular briefings from executives at digital and social media companies in order to learn strategies for appealing to young voters if he were to run for president again.

Biden has gotten advice from an executive at Twitter, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter who would not disclose the executive’s name.

“We work with elected officials, candidates and former politicians regularly when it comes to them getting the most out of Twitter,” a spokesman for the company told CNBC. This person would not directly comment on Biden.

Critics of a potential Biden run have suggested that Democratic voters — and the electorate in general — may prefer a fresh face to take on President Donald Trump, who is 72, in 2020. Biden is 76 and has been a staple of the national political scene since the early 1970s. If he were to run, Biden would have to cultivate a digital operation to keep pace with rivals who have had a head start in developing a vast reach on social media.

Many people are rightly skeptical about Joe Biden’s chances in a match-up with Trump.

Why Biden, Democrats can’t beat Trump in 2020

Former Vice President, Joe Biden, on Tuesday, said that he is ‘very close’ to making a decision on another run Opens a New Window. for the White House Opens a New Window. in 2020.

“I’m certain about where the family is but the second piece is that I don’t want this to be a fool’s errand,” Biden said during an interview at the University of Delaware. “And I want to make sure that if we do this, and we’re very close to getting to a decision, that I am fully prepared to do it.”

However, Herman Cain, who was a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, said although he is the only moderate Democrat that “makes sense on most of the issues,” he can never beat Trump because of his accomplishments that include tax cuts and regulation rollbacks.

The other problem Joe Biden is going to have is the left’s hardcore embrace of identity politics. Biden is an old white man. How is even going to get through the Democrat primary?
