Democrats can’t wait to take control of the House in January. They clearly believe they have been given a mandate by voters in the midterms. But a new poll from Rasmussen shows that most voters disagree. They do not want Nancy Pelosi deciding the direction of the country. They want Trump to do that.
From Rasmussen Reports:
Voters Say Trump, Not Pelosi, Should Set Nation’s Direction
Nancy Pelosi is poised to become the most powerful Democrat in Washington, D.C., but voters prefer that President Trump lead the way.
When given a choice between the two, 46% of Likely U.S. Voters think Trump should set the direction of the country for the next two years. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 31% believe that job should go to Pelosi who is expected to be the speaker of the incoming Democrat-controlled House of Representatives. Nearly one-out-of-five voters (18%) say neither one should set the direction of the country in the near future.
Here’s how the poll question was worded:
1* Who should set the direction of the country for the next two years – President Trump or Nancy Pelosi?
Can anyone blame voters for feeling this way? Trump has led the nation to a booming economy and record low unemployment. Pelosi wants to take us back to the Obama years.
