Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky is no friend to the deep state. He has repeatedly spoken out in defense of Trump and condemned the spying tactics used against Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Now he is going after former CIA director John Brennan’s security clearance.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Rand Paul on ‘partisan hack’ John Brennan’s security clearance: ‘Revoke now!’
Sen. Rand Paul is calling for immediate revocation of former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance, for real this time.
“Disgraceful, extent to which the deep state will go to protect their own,” the Kentucky Republican tweeted Friday, referring to the notion that federal or military officials are undermining a democratically elected government.
“I was in the Oval Office w/@realDonaldTrump when he directed officials to revoke John Brennan’s security clearance. A partisan hack & mouthpiece for the media has no business holding a clearance,” Paul added. “Revoke now!”
President Trump announced in August that Brennan’s security clearance was being stripped due to “erratic behavior” that disqualified him from having access to sensitive information. But the White House never followed through with the complicated bureaucratic process of revocation, a source told the New York Times in a report published last month.

Here’s a short video where Paul makes his point:
"People talk about the deep state, now the deep state's actually protecting their own," says Sen. @RandPaul on ex-CIA Dir. John Brennan keeping his security clearance.

Rand Paul makes an excellent point here.
If the president gave the order for Brennan’s security to be revoked, we need to know who prevented this from getting done.
These people are not entitled to run their own secret government just because they don’t like Trump.
