Recall Petition Filed Against Dem Mayor

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is officially in danger of facing recall.

Eileen Carter and Beldon “Noonie Man” Batiste filed a recall petition against Mayor LaToya Cantrell.

Within the next 180 days, the petition organizers must get signatures from 20% of eligible voters. That is around 53,000 signatures. If they reach that amount it would trigger a recall election.


A recall petition has been filed against Democrat New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell as she faces various scandals and a soaring crime rate.

The petition was filed by Eileen Carter and Beldon “Noonie Man” Batiste on Friday in Baton Rouge and was confirmed by the Louisiana Secretary of State’s office.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s spokesperson issued a statement after the news.

“The mayor is working 24 hours a day, seven days a week to solve the problems of the city,” director of the Mayor’s Office of Communications, Gregory Joseph, said.
