REPORT: Kamala Harris Is Losing Yet Another Communications Team Staffer

Is working for Kamala Harris an awful experience? At some point, you have to wonder if that’s the case because she certainly has a hard time holding on to staffers.

In just a few months, she has lost multiple employees.

The latest person to leave is heading to the defense department.

After months filled with tough headlines, Harris’ communications director left in November. And then her press secretary departed in December. Now, deputy press secretary SABRINA SINGH is leaving for the defense department, the vice president’s office confirmed.

Of the four most senior communications officials that began with Harris, only one — HERBIE ZISKEND — remains.

The departures and their replacements amount to Harris resetting her press team under new communications director JAMAL SIMMONS.

Here’s more from CNN:

Last year, communications director Ashley Etienne and press secretary Symone Sanders announced they would be vacating their positions. Those departures were followed by the exits of two additional staffers in the new year.

Etienne was replaced by Jamal Simmons earlier this year; Sanders’ role remains vacant.

In an email sent to staff, and obtained by CNN, Simmons said the vice president’s new press secretary is expected to be a woman and could be announced soon. The hire is in the final stages of the process, a second official said. The email provided no further specifics.

Politico was first to report on the latest staffing changes on Harris’ team.

The press shop will also see some reshuffling.

Herbie Ziskend will become a senior adviser for communications, a promotion from his current role as deputy communications director. Rachel Palermo, who worked on Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign and on the Biden-Harris transition, will take Ziskend’s previous role and focus on the day-to-day operations of the communications shop.

Remember how the media would lose their minds whenever someone left the Trump White House?

Why is this considered no big deal under Kamala Harris?
