Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik On Impeachment Hearing: ‘An Abject Failure For Democrats And Schiff’ (VIDEO)

The first day of the impeachment hearings was a disaster for Democrats.

All of the testimony was based on hearsay and nothing substantial was presented. This was summed up perfectly by New York Republican Elise Stefanik who has only been in office for a few years.

The Daily Wire reports:

The Republican noted of Mr. Schiff’s secrecy following the hearing both in front of cameras and on Twitter.

“This was Adam Schiff’s first opportunity in front of the public; these hearings have been conducted in a basement bunker, part of his regime of secrecy,” Stefanik tore into the Democrat. “And this was an abject failure for the Democrats and Adam Schiff.”

“Number one: He (Schiff) still refuses to hear from the whistleblower, which started off this whole process. Number two: In less than 20 minutes, Adam Schiff interrupted Republican questions,” she outlined, adding, “This is a continuation of his conduct in closed-door meetings.”

Those remarks came after Stefanik tangled with Schiff during the hearing.

FOX News reports:

Schiff cuts off GOP congresswoman who brings up his ‘parody’ of Trump-Zelensky call

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., cut off Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., during Wednesday’s public hearing in the House impeachment inquiry as the Republican lawmaker tried to bring up Schiff’s controversial parody of President Trump’s July phone call with the Ukrainian president.

“I would like to enter into the record the transcript from the July 25 call between President Trump and President Zelensky,” Stefanik said. “You yourself, Mr. Chairman, have mischaracterized the call.”

Schiff quickly interjected.

“The gentlewoman will suspend,” he said. “By unanimous consent, I’d be happy to enter the record into the record.”
