BIG LEAGUE: Trump Admin Releases Requirements for Border Wall, Starts Requesting Bids to Build It

The Trump administration has released the expectations for the border wall that is going to be built according to a report from Breitbart.

Breitbart reportedThe Trump administration’s proposed border wall is expected to be as tall as 30 feet and no shorter than 18 feet to deter potential illegal immigrants, Homeland Security officials said Friday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has started the process of requesting bids from various companies that would include design proposals and prototypes of President Trump’s proposed barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border, the Washington Times reported.

The agency has released two proposals for contractors who want to submit a bid: a solid, concrete wall and a wall with “a see-through component/capability.”

“The wall design shall be physically imposing in height,” CBP officials said in contracting documents.

The agency said the goal is to have a 30-foot wall, but it will accept proposals as low as 18 feet.

They also said the wall must be at least six feet underground to prevent anyone from tunneling underneath it and high enough that no one can climb the wall without a ladder, NPR reports.

What the United States really needs is technology to detect tunnels which can be used to smuggle dangerous people, drugs, and weapons into the United States.

Luckily one country just recently developed such a technology.

The Times of Israel reported: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday hailed the IDF for what he called a breakthrough in tunnel detection, hours after the army announced it had located a tunnel meant for attacking Israel reaching from the southern part of the Strip into Israeli territory.

Netanyahu said Israel’s tunnel-finding system was the only one of its kind in the world, though he gave no details on the technology that led to Israeli troops uncovering the passage.

“In recent days, the State of Israel has achieved a world breakthrough in its efforts to locate tunnels,” he said. “That doesn’t exist anywhere else. We checked the entire world.”

A massive border wall combined with state-of-the-art tunnel detection technology should combine together to form a formidable defense against illegal immigration.
