Alice Cooper is a world famous rocker who used to party like lots of other hard rock stars. He recently claimed in an interview however, that he quit drinking and credits Jesus Christ for saving him.
The Daily Caller reports:
Alice Cooper Credits Jesus As His Savior From Alcoholism And A Life Of Despair
Legendary rock star Alice Cooper said his faith in Jesus helped him beat his addiction to alcohol and turn his life around, during an interview with The Daily News’ Confidential.
“Everything that could go wrong was shutting down inside of me,” Cooper told Confidential. “I was drinking with Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix and trying to keep up with Keith Moon and they all died at 27.”
Cooper thought he was going to die too if he continued down the path he was on and eventually he was diagnosed as an alcoholic. After leaving the hospital, Cooper embraced his Christian faith and went back to his roots to rediscover Christ.
“My wife and I are both Christian,” Cooper said. “My father was a pastor, my grandfather was an evangelist. I grew up in the church, went as far away as I could from it — almost died — and then came back to the church.”
Good for him. There aren’t many people in the entertainment industry who would have the courage to express their faith so freely. We need more people like Mr. Cooper!
