SMART MOVE: Jeff Sessions Wants Obama Holdover U.S. Attorneys To Resign

Trump should ultimately expel all of Obama’s appointees from Washington. Some of them are working against his agenda and even leaking classified information.

Jeff Sessions is making a good start where he can as Attorney General. He wants Obama’s U.S. Attorneys to step down. It’s a smart move.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Jeff Sessions asks Obama’s holdover U.S. attorneys to resign

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Friday asked the remaining 46 U.S. attorneys appointed by President Obama to resign.

According to the Justice Department, those resignations will “ensure a uniform transition.”

“Until the new U.S. attorneys are confirmed, the dedicated career prosecutions in our U.S. Attorney’s Offices will continue the great work of the department in investigating, prosecuting, and deterring the most violent offenders,” said spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores in a statement Friday afternoon.

According to Flores, both the George W. Bush and Clinton administrations had a similar request at the beginning of their presidencies. President Obama phased out Bush administration attorneys more gradually.

This would be a good start but more has to be done.

Trump needs to be able to work in an environment where he doesn’t have to worry about government moles trying to sabotage him. He shouldn’t stop with Obama’s attorneys, he should get rid of all Obama appointees.
