The Obama family sure has enjoyed themselves during Obama’s two terms as president. They love taking vacations and they really seem to enjoy Martha’s Vineyard, a favorite holiday spot of rich liberal elitists.
No matter how bad the economy is, the Obamas don’t deny themselves anything.
When was the last time you took a vacation?
The New York Times reports:
Obama Arrives in Martha’s Vineyard for Two-Week Vacation
President Obama arrived in Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday for his last summer vacation as president, bringing his wife, both daughters and even the family dogs along.
He headed into this two-week break in an unusually festive mood, having just celebrated his 55th birthday. And with Hillary Clinton ahead of her Republican rival, Donald J. Trump, in national and battleground state polls, Mr. Obama may be able to relax in these weeks more than he has in the past, since a potential Clinton victory would secure much of his legacy.
Last year, Mr. Obama spent part of his vacation making phone calls to Democratic members of Congress, trying to rally support for the nuclear deal with Iran that faced a vote after he returned to Washington. This time, nothing so portentous looms in his immediate future.
Mr. Obama met on Thursday at the Pentagon with his top national security officials for an update on the fight against the Islamic State, a stop he often makes just before going on vacation to assure the country that the nation is safe. Foreign crises have often interrupted his vacations in the past.
