The Ratings Are In For Joe Biden’s First Speech To Congress And They Are Not Good

The ratings for Joe Biden’s first speech to Congress are in and they are terrible.

Biden scored a fraction of Trump’s ratings during his first address to Congress in 2017.

No matter how much the media tries to prop Biden up, the American people just aren’t buying it.

Deadline reports:

We have more numbers on viewership for Joe Biden’s address to a joint session of Congress.

An estimated 26.9 million people watched the president’s address across 16 broadcast and cable networks, according to Nielsen figures released this afternoon.

That’s a steep drop from the 47.7 million who watched Donald Trump’s first speech to a joint session on February 28, 2017.

Nielsen reported that the bulk of Biden’s audience — 18.5 million — were 55 and older. The figures include out of home viewing. Starting at around 9:10 PM ET, the just over one hour speech aired live last night on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo, Univision, PBS, CNBC, CNN, CNNe, Fox Business Network, FOX News Channel, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation and Newsy…

What we can also tell you at this point, when everything from the Super Bowl to the Oscars are seeing new lows, is that Biden’s first address to a sparse Congress was one of the least watched in recent history.

To Thursday throwback to the last POTUS, the current POTUS’ talk was down about 49% from a newly installed Trump’s first speech to a packed House chamber back at the end of February 2017. In a preview of a chaotic and dangerous reign to come, the factually challenged remarks by the former Celebrity Apprentice host went up to around 48 million when all the reporting networks were tallied up in the final numbers.

The numbers are just brutal.

But Biden got more votes than any presidential candidate in American history? OK.
