Trump Pulls The Plug On Nancy Pelosi’s International Trip, Says She Can ‘Fly Commercial’

Nancy Pelosi recently disinvited Trump from the House of Representatives for the State of the Union Address, citing security concerns. It was a mean and petty thing to do. But Trump played the game with her on Thursday, by cancelling an overseas trip she planned with a bunch of other Democrats.

Trump Cancels Pelosi’s Flight, Tells Her She Can ‘Fly Commercial’

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) will not be taking an international trip as planned, President Donald Trump informed her in a letter Thursday.

In a letter between the two leaders, Trump explained that her “excursion” to Egypt, Belgium, and Afghanistan had “been postponed” due to the government shutdown.

The federal government has been in a partial shutdown since Republicans and Democrats could not agree on an appropriations bill that the president would sign by the December deadline. The shutdown is the longest in U.S. history.

Trump told Pelosi that he thought she should remain in Washington to help resolve the shutdown. Should she want to proceed with the trip, she could do so by “flying commercial,” he said.
