Trump just signed an executive order that will change the standards of hiring for federal jobs.
The order places higher priorities on things like skills and knowledge than fancy college degrees.
This will cause some people in academia to sneer. Too bad for them.

Trump’s Latest Executive Order Changes Hiring Standards For Federal Jobs
President Trump signed an executive order Friday afternoon that prioritizes skills and knowledge, not simply academic degree requirements, as qualifications for federal employment.
During an event at the White House, President Trump called the current system “really outdated.”
“The federal government will no longer be narrowly focused on where you went to school but the skills and the talents that you bring to the job. We want that skill to be there,” Trump said.

Today, President @realDonaldTrump will sign a skills-based hiring Executive Order.
This EO recognizes that on the job training & experience often means more than a college degree.
Thank you @IvankaTrump for being a true leader in this field! https://t.co/MqDmarjx58

Academia has drifted too far to the left. It’s all about progressive ideology.
We could use more people in government who have real life skills, experience and common sense.
