Late night hosts and comedians like John Oliver, Amy Schumer and others, have signed a ‘diversity pledge’ for late night comedy.
This is just another example of how the culture of liberal college campuses has infiltrated other areas of life.
It’s also a reminder that comedy is not compatible with left wing progressive ideology.
The Hollywood Reporter has the story:
John Oliver, Amy Schumer and More Sign Writers Guild DEI Pledge for Late Night and Comedy/Variety TV Writers
The Writers Guild of America East and Writers Guild of America West have crafted a pledge committing to improving diversity, equity and inclusion in late night and comedy/variety TV, signed by more than 50 supervisory scribes in the space.
The diverse group, which includes John Oliver, Amber Ruffin, Amy Schumer and Charlamagne tha God, acknowledges systemic barriers and a “sink or swim” culture that has historically excluded BIPOC writers and outlines some specific remedies for helping them enter, stay in and move up through the pipeline.
“Traditional pipelines into late night and comedy-variety television are historically overwhelmingly white, and it is, therefore, insufficient to rely solely upon them when making hiring decisions,” reads the joint statement, which also was signed by Trevor Noah, Samantha Bee, Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, whose shows or hosting stints recently concluded.
Is there any wonder why no one watches late night anymore?
And you thought there was no way to make late night any unfunnier https://t.co/hHuQfTkB2e

Late night comedy is already dead. This will be the nail in the coffin.

Wild idea… but for comedy, just hire who writes the funniest stuff.
This crowd is getting left behind and they don't even know it

Just create a new show called "virtue signal" and be done with it, lol

This industry is dying by its own hand.
