This week during a segment on The View, Joy Behar used the death of George H.W. Bush to attack Trump. This was typical and completely predictable. It was also disrespectful to Bush and Trump. Meghan McCain called Behar out for this and all hell broke loose. Whoopi Goldberg even quickly went to a commercial as things heated up.
The Daily Mail reports:
EXCLUSIVE: ‘Get this b***h under control!’ Joy Behar tears into Meghan McCain off-air after the conservative host lashed out at her for throwing shade on President Trump during The View’s tribute to George H. W. Bush
The episode kicked off with a Hot Topics segment intended to honor the late 41st president, who died on Friday, with the co-hosts taking turns to speak on his legacy.
But just a few minutes in, the conversation went south when Behar threw Trump’s name into the mix while commending Bush’s support for environmental issues.
‘I want to say one thing about him that was not picked up really, because as a candidate he said, “Those who think we’re powerless to do anything about the greenhouse effect, are forgetting about the White House effect,” then he signed into law the Clean Air Act amendment of 1990, one of the most sweeping environmental statutes ever,’ she said.
‘This president that we have now is trying to unravel everything that he did and Obama did, and if I ever become a one-issue voter it will be about pollution and the greenhouse effect -‘ she said before being interrupted.
‘Can we focus on the president, please. I don’t want to talk about Trump, we’re honoring a great president,’ McCain interjected.
Behar shot back: ‘Excuse me a second, please. I want to talk about – ‘ before McCain cut her off again saying: ‘We’re honoring a great president who passed and I’m not interested in your one-issue voting.’
Behar fired back: ‘I don’t care what you’re interested in. I’m talking!’
McCain countered: ‘Well I don’t care what you’re interested in either, Joy!’ before Whoopi quickly called for a commercial break.
